Business Owner – Haider Harbi
Haider’s journey from Baghdad, Iraq to Austin, Texas is a story of resilience and passion. A former member of the Iraqi Special Operations Forces (ISOF), Haider moved to the U.S. nearly a decade ago, choosing Austin as his new home due to the presence of his sponsor, Matthew Fausett, who is a native of the city. Starting his American dream as a dishwasher, Haider worked his way up with determination. On May 15, 2017, inspired by his older brother and best friend, he opened a food truck, turning his lifelong passion for food into a thriving business. This decision marked a significant turn in his life, showcasing his ability to adapt and pursue his dreams even in a new country.
